TUCKING IN: Simon Maynard hopes free bacon butties will encourage people to his church
The annual event is held at churches around the country to show people what church is really like and encourage former worshippers to come back to the services.
Simon Maynard, lay assistant at Trinity Methodist Church said: "We offer two distinct services at Trinity. The 9am service is a more traditional style with organ led worship, while the 10.45am is more charismatic with a full band and more modern songs.

"Once a month we share breakfast, which is a lovely way for the two congregations to meet and catch up with each other and the bacon butties are the best in the town."
He added: "Many people have a view of church that has been shaped by their childhood or some other experience and would be surprised by what they find today. A member of the congregation said that she loved the church because 'You always get a warm welcome. It's like coming home'."
The theme of this year's Back to Church Sunday is come as you are.
Mr Maynard said: "We are all enormously excited about Back to Church Sunday. There is a real buzz about the event, the mayor will be joining us for a special service and of course, there are the bacon butties. But most of all it is an opportunity for people to come and see the impact that Jesus has on the lives of ordinary people like you and me."
