Christine Field, West Sussex County Council's cabinet member for community wellbeing which includes the outdoor environment, said: "Buchan Country Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife across a diverse range of habitats, which will allow amateur and young photographers plenty of opportunity to put their skills to the test."
This year's entrants will have to live up to a high standard after some stunning snaps were sent in during the 2012 contest.
This year's competition runs throughout the summer and into autumn, until November 4, so snappers have the opportunity to submit entries from different seasons.
It costs £1 per entry, with a maximum of five per person. All money raised will go towards the conservation of the park.
Photographs must be taken at Buchan Country Park, off Horsham Road in Broadfield, and a selection of the best pictures will be displayed at the park's Countryside Centre.
The pictures, along with the entry fee, should be posted to Buchan Country Park, Horsham Road, Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 9HQ.
