Chichester Festival Theatre have announced their 2011 Winter Programme but what is your verdict?

Probably the most anticipated of the shows to be coming to CFT this Winter are The Madness of King George III; The WIld Bride and another return for 2010s successful Yes. Prime Minister.

Frantic Assembly will also be visiting with Lovesong (15-26 November 2011) and Simon Callow's two one-man plays by Charles Dickens Dr Marigold and Mr Chops will be performing between 21st and 26th November.

Opening the season from the 14th to 19th November in CFT will be Christopher Luscombe's Theatre Royal Bath revival of Alan Bennett's The Madness of George III with David Haig playing the lead role. George III is one of Alan Bennett's greatest successes and it is an epic production presenting a vivid portrait of English history involving drama, politics and plenty of comedy.

The Wild Bride will be the first show of the season in the Minerva Theatre from 1-5 November. This is a new production by Kneehigh on Tour and this company have used inventive storytelling by the means of humour and music to tell the story of a heroine forced into the wilderness after being sold to the Devil.

It seems to be becoming tradition for Yes. Prime Minister to return to CFT in the Winter after it's two previous successes. The production has also had a sell out tour in the West End and it is certainly no bad thing that the show returns again. Graham Seed and Michael Simkins star in this classic BBC hit series turned stage production full of hilarity.

What do you think of the programme this Winter? Prefer it to last years or to this Summers? Maybe you are a bit disappointed? Leave your thoughts here whatever they are!

“@ImeldaSFan on Twitter seems pretty impressed tweeting that "I think I should have moved to Chichester in order to attend all the shows Chichester Festival Theatre is holding!"
@piptothehip is less impressed though as they tweeted "Or, Chichester Festival Theatre. What's with all the lack of comedy during winter?"”
