East Grinstead's cinema gets a makeover
SPACIOUS seating and an extra screen are among the new features at the town's cinema, which will be officially re-opened tomorrow night.
The newly-refurbished Scott Cinema, in King Street, East Grinstead, will reopen with a Friday night screening of the new James Bond film.
Town council leader James Baldwin and town clerk Chris Rolley will be among the guests at the special showing of the Bond film Quantum of Solace.
Scott took over the Atrium Cinema in King Street in April this year and kept one screen in use during the expansion and upgrading of the cinema.
Fifty couples have won free tickets through a Courier and Observer competition which asked them to name the current James Bond.
After an evening buffet, managing director Peter Hoare will perform the opening ceremony at 7.30pm and a champagne reception will follow before the film is shown.
Cinema manager Laura Stroud said the new decking areas and premium seating had already proved popular.
"It is very comfortable with plenty of leg room but still traditional," she said.
"The third screen is slightly larger than screen two but screen one is still the biggest. We closed just one screen at a time during the work so that we could stay open."
