But luckily for those visiting The Hawth this Christmas the former Family Fortunes star will be appearing in a production of Aladdin as pantomime favourite Widow Twankey.

Joining Les on stage will be original reality TV show winner Noel Sullivan, a member of pop giants Hear'Say, in the role of Aladdin.

Youngsters will no doubt recognise CBBC's Helen Kurup, who is cast as Princess Jasmine, while comedian Jon Clegg returns by popular demand as Wishee Washee.

East Grinstead

When: December 21 to 30

Tickets: 01342 302000

The most romantic pantomime of all returns to Chequer Mead this year with Cinderella making her way to the ball and hopefully home in time for midnight.

Cinderella will be brought magically to life by a cast from the Company of Friends production group.

An abundance of comedy, stunning sets and costumes, and fabulous special effects are promised.

Horsham

When: December 14 to January 5

Tickets: 01403 750220

ONE of the stars of the pantomime at The Capitol may well need a nap halfway through.

But Sleepy's friends are sure to wake him up in the production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Gillian Wright, who plays Jean Slater in EastEnders, is the star name on the bill, playing The Wicked Queen.

She will only need to think of some of the soap's less cheery storylines for inspiration when playing the baddie.

Wimbledon

When: December 7 to January 13

Tickets: 0844 8717627

It may not be right on our doorstep but New Wimbledon Theatre's pantomime is always one of the most star-studded around.

This year there will be a production of Snow White and leading the line-up will be none other than Priscilla Presley, wife of Elvis himself.

She will be taking on the role of the Wicked Queen.

Taking time out from filming with Ricky Gervais will be Warwick Davis, who was most recently seen playing himself in TV sitcom Life's Too Short.

He will be appearing as Prof after a five-year pantomime hiatus.

Redhill

When: December 14 to January 6

Tickets: 01737 276500

Pantomime season in Redhill will have the added X Factor this year. Lloyd Daniels, who came fifth in the 2009 season of the reality show, has joined the cast of Cinderella at the Harlequin Theatre to play the role of Prince Charming.

Lloyd will be replacing Daniel Boys – best known as a contestant on BBC talent series Any Dream Will Do in 2007 – after he left to join a national tour of High Society.

The famous faces do not end with Lloyd, as Andrea McLean from ITV's Loose Women plays the Fairy Godmother.

Croydon

When: December 7 to January 6

Tickets: 0208 6889291

An EastEnders star will swap punters at the Queen Vic for punters at Fairfield Halls this Christmas.

Laila Morse, known to millions as Mo Harris from the popular soap heads the cast for this year's production of Jack and the Beanstalk, as the Fairy.

She will be joined by CBeebies presenter Sid Sloane, cast in the role of Jack.

Neil Fingleton, at 7ft 7 ins tall, is the tallest man in the UK and very well-qualified to play the giant.
