New Year's resolution set to be met by Broadfield runner
MOST people's New Year's resolutions are soon forgotten about. But Semeena Khan's 2011 resolution has not only almost stretched to two years but will see her pushing herself to her physical limit in April.
The 25-year-old, from Lismore Crescent, Broadfield, will be taking on the London Marathon in aid of SeeAbility's Woodlands Home in Horley. Semeena started volunteering at the care home after deciding that she needed to make a New Year's resolution which would benefit others.
She said: "Every new year I would make resolutions to stop eating chocolate and junk food or lose weight so I decided to change my approach and pledge to try doing something meaningful. It's turned out to be the only resolution I've ever kept."
Semeena is spending six days a week in training in preparation for April's marathon, and hopes to raise at least £1,450 in donations.
