VISITORS to Saint Hill Manor got into the swing of things at the weekend.

For the seventh year running the Saint Hill Road site was the backdrop for Summertime Swing.

The fundraising event on Sunday was organised by local jive and swing band The Jive Aces and The L.Ron Hubbard Foundation.

Ian Clarkson, lead singer of the Jive Aces, said: "This family event has been surprisingly popular and has grown and grown over the past few years."

This year's acts included British jazz legend Kenny Ball, Keith Ball, Hannah Mountney, skiffle king Chas McDevitt and Toni Elizabeth Prima.

The guests of honour were Grammy Award winner Keely Smith and Holby City actress Rebecca Grant.

This year's line-up also included teen group The Swing Kinds.

There was a dance display by top Hollywood swing dancers who flew in from the US especially.

The event also had a display of classic cars from the 1920s to 1960s, retro clothes stalls, a hog roast, barbecues and boat rowing on the lake.

The money, which is still being collected, will go towards the nominated charities of the East Grinstead and Crowborough mayors.
