A TOWN centre church has relaunched a youth club with a family fun day.

Trinity Methodist Church on London Road kicked off the new youth activities on Saturday.

The church have teamed up with Urban Saints, a national Christian Youth Organisation.

Children enjoyed a bouncy castle, bungy run, live music, games, as well as a chance to meet the youth leaders.

Simon Maynard, lay assistant and youth co-ordinator said: "It was a fantastic day. One of the leaders thought it was a good idea to set up 'sponge the leader'. I got well and truly sponged.

"We have a bunch of new leaders, supported by our team of experienced youth workers and they have some great ideas that will provide a lot of fun in the coming months."

Urban Saints are currently expanding internationally and the Trinity Methodist Church youth group hope to link up with the Urban Saints in Mexico and help build new houses out there.

Urban Saints clubs run on Wednesday evenings for different ages: 5 to 6-year-olds will meet between 4pm and 5pm, 7 to 10-year-olds between 6pm and 7.15pm, 11 to 14-year-olds between 7.30 and 9pm and 15 to 18-year-olds from 8 to 9.30.

The clubs link with youth work on Sundays and Holiday Club and other events throughout the year.
