Corrie star to open new Crawley Poundland store

Tuesday, November 10, 2009, 14:29

A SOAP star will officially open the country's biggest Poundland store in the town this week.

The bargain basement shop, which has taken over the former Woolworths site in Queen's Square, will open its doors to customers on Thursday.

This will be followed by a celebrity opening on Saturday.

Coronation Street's Auntie Pam, played by actress Kate Anthony (pictured), will be welcoming savvy shoppers into the bargain outlet from 10am to 1pm for the family fun day on Saturday.

From 10am, Auntie Pam will be handing out 50 £1 vouchers to shoppers and a DJ will be keeping shoppers entertained.

There will also be a checkout challenge where £50 worth of Poundland vouchers will be up for grabs.
