Fresh appeal over bungled bookies robbery
Two men demanded cash at Corals in Furnace Parade, Furnace Green, but left with nothing but a bag of coins.
The dopey pair, who were apparently unarmed, put their takings in a sports bag and ran off towards the Charcoal Burner pub.
Detective Constable Lee Franklin, from Crawley Police, said: "We would like to hear from anyone with more specific details now, for example anyone who has changed up a quantity of coins in the past few weeks.
"Contrary to popular belief, bookmakers do not hold large sums of cash on their premises and robberies carry a tariff of life imprisonment. It isn't worth it."
One suspect is described as white, 6ft 3in tall, of slim build and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a black hooded jacket, a black scarf and baseball cap.
He also had green and beige rubber gardening gloves and white trainers.
The other is described as white, 6ft tall and of stocky build and was wearing a black hooded jacket, black scarf with a woolly hat and a baseball cap.
He also wore gloves and carried a black sports bag, possibly made by Adidas.
Anyone with information about the incident which happened just before 9.30pm on February 10 is asked to call 0845 60 70 999.
