Bowls: Southgate Park's week takes a dive

THE week started so well for Southgate Park Bowls Club, who recorded an emphatic victory at Balcombe.

The Crawley side won 91-47 last Thursday with their top rink coming from Basil Goldstraw, Ann Jones and John Hadley (30-7).

But their home form seems to have deserted them. Southgate lost 77-64 on Saturday to Churchfields but Liz Brown, Margaret Rice and Bob Hancock provided the top rink.

And it got worse for Southgate on Sunday as they were demolished 99-47 by a rampant Coleman's Hatch.
