Evans up for Cambridge test
The Scholars sit 15th in the table, despite many pundits picking them as a team to challenge for promotion at the start of the campaign.
And the match will sit as a marker for Crawley's play-off ambitions as, if the Reds are to have any hope of catching the top five then they will need to take maximum points from this clash.
Reds boss Steve Evans has told his players that nothing less than three points will be good enough.
He said: "It is all about results for us now. It's not good enough to put in good performances but not take the points.
"If we have any chance whatsoever then we need to go out and get three points from Cambridge on Saturday."
Evans admitted being surprised that United were not higher up the table, but says their squad still has a lot of quality in it and is expecting a tough game.
"Dean Saunders seems to have turned it around at Wrexham over the last few weeks so there is certainly a bit of pressure on Cambridge, who many predicted would be challenging for the automatic promotion spot.
"But they still have some very good players and I think they have made some good signings as well."
Crawley have a fully fit squad of players to pick from for Saturday's game, with Charlie Ademeno expected to lead the line for the Reds.
"If we play at our best and take our chances then we will dominate the game," added Evans.
