Reds boss pleased with Forrest

STEVE Evans says he is happy with forward Danny Forrest despite his lack of game time for the Reds first team.

The former Bradford City striker was given a rare start at Stevenage, but was hauled off after just 55 minutes despite having been one of Town's brightest player.

But Evans insists there is no issue with the 25-year-old and the substitution was purely down to the player not being match fit.

He said: "All it was today was tiredness and you have to say that as we've only lost a couple of games since the beginning of December the boys in the team deserve to keep their places.

"We brought Danny in today as Lewis was struggling a little bit with his calf but we just took him off as he tried to match their left back for pace a couple of times and was struggling to get away.

"He's done well today there's no question but we felt that if we had kept him on then he would have hurt us. His legs were starting to become very heavy and tired."
