Berry's consolation not enough for sorry ladies

CRAWLEY were given a lesson in finishing as they slumped to this heavy league defeat.

The game started at a fast pace with Crawley taking a little time to settle.

Worthing took advantage and were soon ahead after scoring with a quick counter attack.

Crawley's heads did not go down as they were determined to try and hold Worthing. The home defence of Sara Oxby, Helen Hamilton, Jane Lomas and Becky Whitelock played extremely well together but unfortunately Worthing got a fast break and scored a second time.

The home's side midfield of Vicky Scargill, Julie Bosence and Fran Cornwall had a storming game and worked really hard throughout the whole game.

Crawley had alot of chances but just could not put the ball in the back of the net until Michelle Berry converted a rebound after an initial Sue Allen shot.

Nevertheless two more goals from Worthing made the score 4-1 at half time.

The second half saw the home side pushing forward but two more strikes saw the final score somewhat flatter the visitors.

Crawley have learnt a lot from this game and now are regrouping for this weekend's game at Horsham.
