Brooks stars fopr Crawley

CRAWLEYS top girl Sophie Brooks continued her recent fabulous vein of form when the Crawley Swimming Club squad competed in the high-class Not So Early Bird Open Meet.

At butterfly, Brooks raced home for gold in the 100 metres, and was no less convincing over 200 metres, notching another fine victory. She sealed a golden hat-trick in the 100 metres freestyle and claimed bronze in the 50 metres sprint.

Callum Hillicks rarely fails to take home medals, on this occassion earning gold and silver in butterfly, and completing the set with freestyle bronze.

Federica Williamson again took breaststroke honours with gold and silver, while Ben Hutchinson announced his return from university with gold in the butterfly sprint.

Other swimmers who challenged hard for bronze medals were Zara and Charlie Robertson in the energy sapping 800 metres freestyle. Williams at butterfly and freestyle, her sister Sara in backstroke, Jack Payne at breastsroke and Charlie Robertson in the energy sapping 800 metres fresstyle.
