Credit crunch? What credit crunch?

ANOTHER edition just about wrapped up, and altogether, I'm pretty pleased with it.

Our front page is the sort that should whip up a frenzy - a tale of a man, his fence, and £11,000 of taxpayers money.

Might not sound the most glamorous mix at first glance, but it all makes for a classic tale of pettiness and bureaucracy which, I hope, will have you all reaching for your pens/keyboards to write to us.

Aside from that, we also have a special report which suggests East Grinstead, at least, is escaping the clutches of the credit crunch and actually flourishing in these allegedly tough times.

I'm particularly happy about this story as, frankly, I'm bored by all these doom and gloom credit crunch stories.

I am a member of the much-maligned media and, generally, will defend my fellow journos.

But, at times, I do think we are guilty of spouting some total tosh, particularly one certain public sector broadcast organisation.

Is the credit crunch really as bad as it seems, or just because the BBC are telling us it's bad?
