Children get a pizza the action

CHILDREN tested their taste buds and cooking skills in a restaurant kitchen.

Pupils from Turners Hill visited Pizza Express in East Grinstead to experience new flavours and make their own pizzas.

The year 4 and 5 children tasted capers, artichokes and sweet peppers before making their own toppings.

Class teacher Julie Brown said: "They had a tasting session and got to try different vegetables and learnt about food hygiene and safety in the kitchen. They learnt what it's like to work as a chef. They had a brilliant time."

She said it tied in with the topic of the body and the children were learning about how to be healthy.
