The new land was left in the will of Elizabeth Shallis, the great, great granddaughter of the school's founder.
Head teacher Simon Willcocks said: "We have always been a school that has encouraged children to discover the great outdoors, get their hands dirty and have fun.
"Now we have our very own bluebell wood and the space to take our educational and ecological ambitions to another level."
Plans for the new land include a small farm, horseriding and an extension of the nature trail already used for science lessons.
GREAT OUTDOORS: Pupils at Fonthill Lodge School enjoy their new woodland nature reserve.
