This bank holiday weekend, step into the exciting world of traditional and contemporary crafts against the majestic backdrop of one of Kent's most beautiful historic houses.
Up to 250 artist craftsmen will travel from across Britain to Penshurst Place for the 2009 Weald Of Kent Craft Show where they will display and demonstrate the very best in unusual and inspiring crafts in ten large marquee tents.
A brand new feature for the 2009 show will be the Live Cookery Theatre where Andy Gratton, celebrity chef for Marks and Spencer, will cook up a flaming good feast and reveal the secrets of preparing a perfect barbecue.
Other show features will include:
Daily workshops presented by craft experts in decorative ceramics, pencil making, woodturning, papermaking, drawing and painting
The specialist food marquee with local produce including handmade cheeses, preserves, curry sauces, fruit punch, luxury dips, nuts and chocolates
Antiques valuation marquee with experts from TV and radio offering their worldly expertise free of charge
A colourful show garden brimming with vibrant plants and accessories where visitors can dig up inspirational ideas and tips
Interactive demonstrations held by expert craftsmen with traditional craft techniques
As well as these temporary attractions, there is always Penshurst Place itself to enjoy.
