VIKING artifacts have been recreated by pupils from a Crowborough school.

Year Five students from Herne Junior School spent the Christmas holidays researching and creating the pieces as part of their history homework.

They were also asked to write an information sheet with their work so that the artifacts could be displayed at the school in Herne Road this week.

Parents had the chance to view the creations, which included brooches and ornaments, in a museum-style setting on Wednesday, yesterday (Thursday) and today (Friday).

Assistant office administrator Sharon Forbes said: "My daughter is in that year, she loved it actually.

"The parents loved it. It was really nice to be able to get a feeling of what they were actually doing."
