PUZZLING: Screen grab of YouTube video showing 'dirty classrooms at Claremont Primary School

THE HEADTEACHER of a leading Tunbridge Wells school said he was "puzzled" as to why images of the school's empty classrooms were posted on the internet.

Four videos were uploaded onto the YouTube website labelled "dirty" two weeks ago by a Polish former cleaner at Claremont Primary School.

The amateur shots show rooms at the Banner Farm Road school prior to being cleaned. The images are not shocking – they simply show a typical classroom at the end of a busy day.

Paper and craft materials can bee seen on the floor, dirty paint brushes are in the sink and there are muddy footprints on the floor.

Head Richard Sutton-Smith said he believed they were filmed in November and the cleaner was sacked by the cleaning company around the same time for poor standards.

"I can't understand why they are posting it now. Maybe it's due to some business about them being sacked. Or maybe it is completely innocuous and they are just showing friends and family the work they had done."

Mr Sutton-Smith is in discussions with the cleaning company to get the videos taken down.

He added: "It is very unusual. It's a bit odd because they showed a classroom before cleaning, but this is the age we live in.

"It shows a classroom that has taken a heavy hit from a practical day's work. I believe the day it was filmed we were just starting to put furniture in the classroom and there was quite a lot of the stuff lying around."

Mr Sutton-Smith said he was surprised by the interest in the videos – to date the four posts had been watched a combined 123 times.

He explained that the cleaner was on the site legitimately and parents should not worry about issues of child safety.
