It's second time lucky for Ticehurst Village Fete

THE Ticehurst Village Fete attracted everyone from butlers to the monarchy for a right royal celebration.

The fete, which was postponed due to bad weather on June 16, was held on Saturday at Ticehurst Recreation Ground.

Actor Christopher Beeny, best known as footman Edward in the original Upstairs Downstairs TV series, opened the fete.

The grand parade, which started from the Maynards Pick-Your-Own fruit farm, featured a new category of float, best wheeled float, sponsored by the McCrumlish family from the Village Store and was won by six-year-old Paige Langdown Smith.

Other popular displays included the Women's Institute, who all dressed as the Queen.

The dog show was very popular, with black Labrador Cedric the overall winner.

The WI served teas outside in a marquee and visitors were entertained by The Brecknockers, a jazz sextet.
