New ticket building is winched in
The building forms part of the new station which will open in January.
On Monday at 8am, the crane arrived at the station site, and an hour later the station building module was craned into position.
For years passengers have had to put up with buying their tickets from a temporary ticket office while waiting in the rain and snow, with only a few seats available under a draughty canopy to use while waiting for the train.
In October 2008 it was shut after rats were discovered with the cabin "not deemed fit for staff."
From January commuters will be able to buy their tickets under cover and a new waiting room will be a welcoming sight for those needing to sit down in comfort while they wait for the train.
The modular station building was manufactured off-site in Yorkshire.
