Views needed on new crossing
Following the first part of a public consultation last week, the council is concerned there are not enough people giving their opinion on the controversial crossing.
The meeting did not attract as many people as they were hoping for, leading to worries it may be overlooked by villagers.
Parish council chairman Tom Doyle is urging residents to download and fill in the council's form or visit the county council's website to give their verdict and opinions, as well as taking notice of the plans laid out on the high street notice board.
He told the Courier: "The village seems split in its opinion on the crossing and the parish council are finding it difficult to work out where it will go.
"This is a very big decision for Wadhurst, so as many people as possible need to respond, otherwise something may happen which people don't want to, and there will be nothing we can do about it."
There has been much concern from traders in the village that if the crossing goes from the proposed Columbine dry-cleaners to Wealden Wholefood, it would detract from parking spaces and business would be affected.
One of the main campaigners for the crossing is Christine Almond.
She is eager for it to go ahead so that her disabled daughter, Summer, can cross the roads without difficulty, something which is not possible for her to do at the moment.
